Third Quarter Orientation Welcomes Students Worldwide

The Third Quarter Orientation for the 2025-2026 academic year was held online at Great Commission University. Students, faculty, and staff gathered together to begin the new quarter with prayer, God’s Word and hopeful expectation. Academic information and important announcements were shared to help students prepare for a fruitful season of study.

The orientation was led and presided by Dr. Deborah Im, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who welcomed students and faculty and explicated a variety of topics for new and recurring students to be prepared for effective academic and spiritual progress.

The welcoming message was delivered, highlighting the university’s purpose of imparting knowledge leading to eternal life. Main scripture reference was John 17:3, which provides a clear definition of what eternal life consists in, explaining the kind of knowledge required to attain it – knowing God and knowing Jesus Christ.

In alignment with the theme of cross and resurrection during the Lent and Easter season, everyone was encouraged to embrace and participate in the new life that Christ offers to each person – and live their lives imparting this life-giving knowledge to all people.

The orientation also introduced new courses and faculty members, while emphasizing the importance of Chapel and Christian Service as integral parts of student life at a Christian university, not only as a required component of the curriculum but primarily as a source of spiritual nourishment and opportunity for supervised and reflected practical application.

Great Commission University currently offers a BA in Theology (BATh) and a Master of Divinity (MDiv), with instructional languages English and Spanish.

Students from different parts of the world, primarily from Latin America, followed by Africa, Europe and the United States, are being equipped with a thorough, biblically grounded theological understanding.

May this quarter be filled with abundant fruit for all members of the University, academically and spiritually.
