GCU Fall 2025 Orientation Marks a New Beginning

Great Commission University held its Fall 2025 Orientation on September 22, 2025, ushering in a new academic quarter with prayer, worship, and encouragement. The opening sermon, drawn from Genesis 11, reminded that unity founded on human ambition and selfish desire is ultimately destroyed, as seen in the confusion of languages at Babel. In contrast, unity for God’s purpose and plan, is established by the power of the Holy Spirit, as revealed in Acts 2.

President Paul Foerster urged students and faculty alike to pursue the power of truth and to anticipate the genuine unity that God calls His people to form.

In addition to welcoming faculty, and courses, the orientation introduced key resources essential to academic and spiritual growth. Sessions highlighted advising, graduation requirements, chapel, and Christian Service, all designed to help students embrace a life of faithful dedication to their studies and callings.

Presider Dr. Deborah Im exhorted students to cherish every opportunity to be equipped as pastors, ministers, and missionaries. “Today is an era of chaos and confusion,” she said. “We need new leaders who are trained to serve the mission of God.”

Throughout the program, the central mission of Great Commission University was emphasized: to serve the global church by educating mission leaders who will fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

As the Fall 2025 quarter begins, the GCU community looks forward with hope and prayer that this season will be marked by abundant blessing and fruitful ministry for students, faculty, and staff alike.
